Android Messages

All is right in the world again; I recently purchased a Pixel 3 XL. Last year, I crossed over to the dark side and purchased an iphone. It was a sound purchase given the circumstances at the time. Anyone who has spoken to me since knows I was itching to get back to android. Now I have, Merry Christmas to me.

The one thing I wasn’t thrilled to lose was imessage. For those of us who don’t know, imessage allows you to send and receive text messages on iphone, ipad, macbook, etc. Basically, you can start a conversation on one device and continue it on another. The new and improved Messages brings this feature to android.

The setup is really easy. Navigate to https://messages.android.com/ on your laptop or desktop and follow the easy pairing instructions. There is an app for compatible devices.

Messages is awesome! I’ve paired my macbook and chromebook. If I get a new message, I can respond from the computer and leave the phone where it is.

Have you used the new Messages? What do you think?
